The Complete Guide to Mounting and Securing Your Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS
10/07/2026
The Thrustmaster Warthog is one of the most respected HOTAS on the market: all-metal, heavy, remarkably precise. But that very weight demands a solid mount to unlock its full potential. Here's how to mount and secure your Warthog properly.
Why secure your Warthog?
With its massive metal bases, the Warthog tends to slide on a desk during sharp movements. A stable mount eliminates this, improves precision (the stick only moves under your commands) and protects your gear. It's the first step before any customisation.
Mounting solutions
Three main approaches: desk mounting (anti-slip pads, clamp plates or direct screwing for permanent setups), a sim-chair mount that places stick and throttle on either side of the seat for a realistic position, and dedicated stands (modular cockpit) for the most advanced rigs. Choose based on available space and how often you dismantle it.
Ergonomics and cabling
Place the stick on the right and the throttle on the left, at elbow height, tilted slightly toward you. Clean cabling (cable channels, sleeves) avoids strain on the connectors and extends the hardware's life. Take time to adjust the height: good ergonomics reduce fatigue and improve performance.
Customise your Warthog
Once your HOTAS is solidly installed, it's time to personalise. Our plates for the Thrustmaster Warthog display your game's controls (Star Citizen, DCS…) right on the device: every button becomes identifiable at a glance, without looking away from the action. Paired with backlighting, they turn your Warthog into a professional cockpit.
A well-secured and well-personalised HOTAS means more immersive, more precise sessions. Happy flying!
